A catch-all mailbox is one that captures all the email messages sent to invalid email addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and in this way you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an out-of-date address or has made a typo. The negative aspect of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of spam, but this issue can be rectified by using an anti-spam filtering solution. It is also crucial to know that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound emails to a third-party address.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
You will be able to set up a catch-all mailbox effortlessly if you have a shared hosting plan with us. The Email Manager in our custom-developed Hepsia Control Panel is feature-loaded, yet exceptionally user-friendly, and it will permit you to enable various options, including the catch-all one, with only a few mouse clicks. All the mailboxes that you have set up will be listed in alphabetical order in this section and to the right of each one of them you’ll notice a mini "Catch-all" sign. Clicking on it once will enable the feature, clicking on it twice will deactivate it. Since you can have just one such catch-all mailbox per domain, our system will inform you if you’ve already got another mailbox with this option activated or if you have enabled email forwarding.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
You will be able to create a catch-all address with no more than one click if you have a semi-dedicated server with us and your email messages are handled by our cloud platform. All the addresses that you set up with any domain name hosted in your account will be listed in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Each of them will have a small-size "Catch-all" icon next to it, so all it will take to enable this feature will be to click that icon. In the exact same manner you’ll be able to deactivate the feature, if you don’t need it anymore. Our system will warn you in case you are attempting to activate a second catch-all mailbox for a specific domain name or if there is active email forwarding, but it’ll never change or deactivate anything automatically and without your permission.
